Bag dump stations are used to safely and hygienically transfer product from bags, pails or sacks into the process system.
They can be integrated to fit most downstream equipment types such as flexible or rigid screw conveyors, pneumatic transfer systems and blenders.
The hinged access door, once opened is held in place by a gas stay support. The bag is then slit manually and the product tipped into the easy clean hopper of the bag dump. Dust control is via an integral dust collector filter unit mounted to the top of the bag dump station or via a ducting system to a central dust collector system. The integral dust collector returns captured dust to the product stream eliminating waste. Filter cleaning options include reverse pulse or shaker type.
Operator face velocity through the bag dump door opening is typically >1.5m/s. This allows for a clean, healthy work environment complying with government regulations and agencies such as OSHA and the EPA. For achieving higher throughputs, a twin dump design (with two access doors) allows more than one operator to tip product at the same time. Fresco have many different types of flow promotion devices which are fitted to hoppers, bins or silos and are matched to the product characteristics.
These devices include agitation, vibration, fluidization and teflon coatings. Where simple screening is required Fresco has an optional vibratory sieve which is fitted into the top of the hopper. The vibratory motor is mounted outside the hopper with rubber isolators which prevent the vibration passing to the hopper wall. Almost any size aperture mesh, perforated plate or woven wire can be fitted into the screen. Quick removal options are available on request.
